  • Abstract
We report on a highly sensitive detection of sub-nanosecond terahertz-waves with wide dynamic range using frequency up-conversion in a nonlinear MgO:LiNbO3 crystal at room temperature. The generation of the detection signal is based on optical parametric mixing between an input terahertz-waveWe report on a highly sensitive detection of sub-nanosecond terahertz-waves with wide dynamic range using frequency up-conversion in a nonlinear MgO:LiNbO3 crystal at room temperature. The generation of the detection signal is based on optical parametric mixing between an input terahertz-wave radiation and an intense near-IR pumping beam. We obtained the dynamic range of more than 100 dB. radiation and an intense near-IR pumping beam. We obtained the dynamic range of more than 100 dB.
