Abstract
We present a theoretical study of coherently coupled, stacked planar metal/insulator films. Our analysis shows that resonant coupling of plasmon and waveguide modes results in strongly dispersive, nonmonotonic reflectance, suitable for enhanced plasmonic sensing applications.
