  • Abstract
Because of extreme natural disasters, the stress of transmission lines could fluctuate obviously, so it´s important to calculate the conductor tension in the design or operation of power grid and the analysis of post-failure. Firstly, three common calculation methods for mechanical stress of overhead transmission lines are introduced. Then, the advantages and defects of different calculation methods are analyzed by simulating results analysis of accuracy and the computing time of each method, and researchers and technicians can choose an appropriate calculation method based on the analysis.
