Abstract
A new reactive power optimization model involved the probability of voltage violation (PVV) and power losses to resolve the stochastic impact of wind power injection on voltage regulation. The derivation of PVV is given and applied to a variable-speed constant-frequency (VSCF) wind turbine firstly which is calculated by combining the probability of wind farm power output and the relationship between the power output of wind farm and nodal voltage of power grid. A case study of the proposed model for a regional power grid in China is presented. The simulation shows that the proposed model has the advantages of voltage control when the power output of wind farm is changed frequently. The novel model also has better adaptability of the reactive power optimization.
