Abstract
In accordance with the fact that traffic accidents usually happened in dim night or in the case of sudden change of lighting, this paper presents a design of adaptive automotive headlights system based on CAN/LIN network. This system can effectively broaden the driver´s field of view and improve driving comfort. The system adopts CAN/LIN bus for communication, captures automobile steering wheel angle, automobile body´s tilt angle, external ambient light illuminance and switching signal and then sends them to the corresponding control nodes to control headlights after being processed. While the automobile turns, the system can control the headlights left-right servo, While the automobile is uphill or downhill, the system can control the headlights pitch servo, While automobile get in and out of the special path such as tunnel, culvert, the system can control headlights automatic tuning-on and turning-off during the day.
