Abstract :
A new wireless networking paradigm for mobile hosts is Adhoc network. These networks have prompted the development of an alternative way for mobile device communication in which each node communicates with each other over wireless without the support of an infrastructure, forming a Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET). VANET (Vehicular Adhoc Network), a subset of MANET is a network in which vehicles can move around with no boundaries on their direction and speed. Thus, arbitrary motion of vehicles poses new challenges to researchers in terms of designing a protocol set more specifically for VANET.VANETs have received increased attention as the potential technology in the last few years to enhance travelling comfort, active and preventive safety on the road. For the successful acceptance and deployment of this technology, security and privacy are indispensable. In this paper, a new proxy re-encryption (NPRE) scheme has been considered and the results have been evaluated in straight road scenario of VANET. The results of Proxy Re-encryption (PRE) and New Proxy Re-encryption (NPRE) authentication methods have been compared with QualNet simulator.
