Abstract :
Output of PV systems is a nonlinear function of environmental parameters like temperature, irradiance and shading. To extract maximum energy from PV arrays and to increase its overall efficiency, maximum power point tracking control is inevitable. In this paper, a modified perturb and observe technique based on three-point weight comparison (TWC) with variable step size is proposed in order to overcome the demerits of traditional perturb and observe and TWC approaches. The modified TWC method (MTWC) is adaptive to load changes and solar radiation.
