Abstract :
With the growth of computer and information technologies, e-learning educational systems are becoming more and more popular all over the world, it makes the scene become real that anybody could learn at anywhere in anytime. However, without the assistance of e-learning system, the leaning questions students countered cannot be solved in time. Consequently it is necessary to develop e-learning intelligent tutoring system (ITS) in order to provide learning support service for students. In this paper, an multi-agent e-learning ITS (MAELITS) is proposed to recommend suitable learning courseware for individual student to implement adaptive learning. The framework of this system and the functions of each component are introduced first, and then the program flow on which the agents in this system base to cooperate with the others to recommend suitable learning courseware for individual student according to the estimation of students´ cognitive ability level is discussed. Furthermore, the algorithm and procedure which are developed to implement the designed functions of the agents in the system will be elaborated. The proposed MAELITS will derive adaptive learning courseware for individual student to learn in effective and efficient way.
