  • Abstract
Object selection is one of the the fundamental problems of 3D user interface, so it is very important to study it. This paper presents a new method for the object selection. First, the method is based on single camera, and historical data by hand in the 3D virtual scenes forecasts the hand motion trajectory, then the intersection which this trajectory and desktop get in the virtual scene have decided to stay selected objects, and finally by the vector of hand and the position of object in the virtual scene ultimately determine the candidate objects. This method predicts for the selected object by the cognitive information of hand position and orientation in the process of moving objects. The experimental results show that, using the proposed algorithm not only can complete the operator intention, but also reduce the time cost of the selection of objects, the average time of selecting six object reach 18939 ms, which is 5361 ms less than token ring method.
