Abstract
The users communicate with each other forming a temporary network, without any form of centralized administration results in ad hoc networks. Each node participating in the network acts both as a host and a router. In this paper, application scenario of inter vehicular communication is considered and the simulation is performed using ns2 (network simulator version 2). Performance metrics such as jitter and packet delivery fraction are observed for the routing protocols Ad hoc On-demand Distance-Vector (AODV) and Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) through simulation. The network topology is dynamic, because the connectivity among the nodes may vary with time due to node departures, new node arrivals, and the possibility of having mobile nodes and simulation is plotted on the x-graph in ns2.
