  • Abstract
Wall climbing mechanisms are helpful systems for the various applications on the vertical surface. Building maintenance is one of the most effective applications of wall climbing robot. Maintenance including inspections and cleaning are important for keeping the condition of building and for increasing its life time. A robot is a machine designed to replace human beings in performing a variety of tasks either on command or by being programmed in advance. A wall cleaning robot is designed to clean the surface of glass wall. This study aims to develop high efficiency and high reliable glass cleaning robot. The robot is simple in construction and serves for glass and floor cleaning. The robot is of hanging type and motion is given to it by using special rigging designed. Thrust fan is provided to give thrust between the brush and wall for proper cleaning. Spraying of soap water and pure water is controlled by microcontroller. To check the efficiency of cleaning a dirt sensor is designed using photo sensor and to guarantee the completeness of window cleaning experiment on dirt sensor is done.
