Abstract
In order to meet the needs of teaching military commanders to make good use of weapon systems, a distributed system architecture with rule-based inference engine was built for the teaching and simulation system for application of weapon system of systems. Furthermore, the idea of expert knowledge-oriented rule components was put forward for the sake of strengthening the interoperability between different systems, and in this way, the teaching and simulation system was developed and realized successfully. Moreover, the visual simulation platform VegaPrime and multimedia technologies were utilized to model 3D virtual battlefield environment, which could improve the users´ sense of immersion and interactivity significantly. This system applied in the course had achieved favorable results, which had broad application prospects and good promotional values.
