Abstract
A solar simulator of 54 kW of electric power, including 9 Xe-arc lamps, was designed and analysed by the Monte-Carlo ray tracing method. Radiations of the 9 lamps are measured by a power sensor. A simplified source model is built based on experimental data to forecast radiation flux distribution, which provides a reference for adjusting the solar simulator. The radiative power reaches over 1800 watts on a 300-mm-diameter circular target, and the maximum radiation flux reaches ~80 kW/m2.
