Abstract :
The manufacturing process of flexible substrates develops the residual stress which leads to the birefringence. This birefringence can affect the polarization of the light passing through substrate along with the spectral changes in LCDs. We report that the effect of the birefringence of flexible substrate on the polarization state of the light passing through it. We observed that by aligning the optics axis of the PET film in a particular plane will not affect the light polarization of the backlight source.
