Abstract :
This Paper presents an efficient block search method for fast motion estimation and subsequently compensation in the video compression. In video compression motion estimation and compensation is the most vital task, Block matching technique is utilised for the motion estimation and compensation, and it consumes maximum resources in term of computation. It was proposed in [8] how to calculate the rate i.e. the motion estimation faster. We have further modified the Rho-Square search (RS)[8] algorithm to be less computation intensive and reach the optimal solution faster. The proposed methodology is compared with RS to show that the proposed methodology gives faster and efficient results at comparable and or better results.
