Abstract :
Locust outbreak can cause extensive crop and rangeland damage. This study selects appropriate indicators to analyze and evaluate breeding, incubation and development suitability for Italian locust outbreak in Xinjiang by integrating quantitative remote sensing and geography information system (GIS) technologies. The results are useful for disaster management to locate areas with a high outbreak potential, thus early warning strategies can be deployed to minimize the potential economic risks.
