Abstract :
Social networks have revolutionized the way people communicate and keep in touch. However, as these new technologies advance, users become more exposed to cyber security threats. There is a need to explore and evaluate these threats for their potential harmfulness. The main theme of the research is to examine the privacy issues users are exposed to when using social networks such as Facebook. With the risks of disclosing personal information online, users need to be made aware of what policies and legal instruments exist to cover them. The result of this would be a safer social network experience for all those who use it the most.
