Abstract :
This paper introduces a new formal model for supervisory control of Discrete Event Systems (DES). The system is represented by a prefix-closed language and a control structure, a map which stores the information of control and marking for the strings of the language. The condition for existence of a supervisor and an optimal supervisory scheme are given. An example where the proposed approach is naturally applied closes the paper.
