Abstract
The results of an experimental validation of a mathematical model for the squirrel cage Y-connected induction machine with faults in the stator are presented. Electrical faults as inter-turn short circuit or extra resistance in one of the stator windings for loaded and idling motor are studied. The adopted dynamic model of the motor correctly describes the character of the phenomena observed in the experiments. Both the analysis of the mathematical model and experimental data have shown that purely electrical faults in the stator do not influence the induction machine´s magnetic symmetry.
