Abstract :
In this paper, the concept and framework of a novel grey-box modelling method, namely fundamental grey box modelling is proposed. This method starts from collecting a set of simple functions, i.e. fundamental elements, based on the study of the system mechanism. The final system model is an appropriate combination of these fundamental elements and their derived terms. The proposed method is illustrated by modelling the pollutant emissions for a coal-fired power generation plant. The results demonstrate the merits of this modelling technique.
