Abstract
Modelling of systems with uncertain nonlinearities and little physical insight such as pneumatic drives is a domain of those black box models showing universal approximating capabilities such as fuzzy models. To obtain LMS optimal models some well-known and new optimization techniques (combining nonlinear with linear estimation methods for higher efficiency) are discussed and compared. For a numerical comparison the different approaches are applied to fuzzy modelling of a pneumatic drive.
