  • Abstract
    Assessment of the dynamic characteristics of surge arrester is an important aspect of insulation coordination. Computer simulation of residual impulse voltage test of surge arrester models have been done using Alternative Transients Program (ATP) and Power systems computer aided design (PSCAD) design softwares. In this paper, the models have been developed in MATLAB Simulink. The accuracy of the models are ascertained by comparing the results with the manufacturer´s design data.
