  • Abstract
Transient disturbances are common in a power system network and their monitoring is an important issue. Identification and classification of these disturbances help in stabilizing the system and minimizing the chances of failure of power equipments. In our paper, a modern graphical diagnostic tool known as Recurrent Plot (RP) analysis has been discussed and applied for visual monitoring, identification and classification of the distortions that occur in a power signal. This method gives a graphical insight into the non-linearity that occurs in a power signal due to injection of various disturbances.
