Abstract :
In process industries almost all processes are controlled using conventional methods, usually by PID control. However in conventional control design, practical issues such as ‘disturbance rejection’, ‘model mismatch errors’, ‘time delays’ etc. are not taken care, rather effect of these factors are mostly corrected by trial and error methods. Alternately, solution of such advanced control problems can be obtained in simplified manner using modern control approach. This paper is intended to illustrate the use of modern control approach in process control. In this paper, Luenberger observer based state feedback control is designed to regulate the fluid flow to a preset value and results obtained on experimental setup are provided.
