Abstract :
The most prevalent form of virtualization today, virtual operating systems (or virtual machines) are quickly becoming a core component of the IT infrastructure. Virtualization technology has been developed rapidly with the growth of the hardware supported virtualization technologies and the appearance of the various services. Virtual server technologies provide companies the ability to do more with less, enabling the consolidation of data and applications onto a single server. The result is reduced costs, simplified IT management, and minimized space requirements. The need to protect these virtualized systems is paramount and in situations where companies are looking to reduce the costs associated with disaster recovery planning. External device is required to store data backups for recovering the disrupts. In our proposed system, Fault Tolerant Mechanism has been introduced for a solution of Disaster Recovery. Without the external device, the data backups can be done in the internal hardware virtualization environment. This has been tested in various Hypervisors like VMworkstation, Virtualbox, XEN and QEMU. Compared to other two techniques 95% disaster recovery achieved through VM workstation and Virtualbox.
