Abstract
Recognition of persons on the basis of biometric features is an emerging phenomenon which has received increasing attention in recent years due to the need for security in a wide range of applications. Singular points are the discontinuities in the directional field. Two types of singular points exist- core point and delta points. A core is the uppermost point of the innermost curving ridge, and a delta is a point where three ridge flows meet. In human fingerprint, it may contains more than one core point or delta point. By using these points we can construct a graphical shape that is used for fingerprint identification. According to the position of core- delta points the graphical shape for each person is different from others, so comparing with these shape can identify each person.
