Abstract
Dynamic simulations of satellite and terrestrial communication systems require generation of time varying random users. If the geographical region under consideration is known, the simulation results can be refined by generating users based on parameters influencing user distribution such as population density or Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This letter brings forward a novel application of the inverse transform sampling technique for generating users based on point-wise gridded statistical data. The impact of generation of random users based on population density in multibeam satellite system simulations as against conventional approaches is also discussed.
