Abstract
In terms of ellipse detection, the parameter spatial reduction of Hough Transform (HT) is widely adopted. However, HT has its limitations, such as detection of specified ellipse and calculation efficiency. For an arbitrary ellipse, the method mentioned in this paper implements chain code to extract the specified ellipse track that eliminates most of the noise, and then a two-dimensional accumulator is applied, which is an efficient and straightforward way to obtain the hub of the ellipse. As regards to other parameters, they can be worked out by importing the specified points on the extracted track. The calculated results are precise and the computing overhead is also appropriate compared to the original method.
