Abstract :
A compact, low cost, low profile and high gain multi band antenna with defected ground structure and an air layer along with glass PTFE substrate in hexagonal microstrip is designed and simulated. The antenna was fed by coaxial probe. The designed microstrip antenna has a higher gain of 6.2 dB and return loss of less than 10 dB at 2.4 GHz, 4.2 GHz, 5.8 GHz. The antenna is simulated using the software HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator).
