Abstract :
Phase detectors play an essential role in CDR circuits to recover clock and data. In this paper, an Operational TransResistance Amplifier (OTRA) based phase detector circuit has been proposed. The proposed circuit is simple to realize and consists of two OTRA based comparators, a CMOS XOR circuit and an RC integrator. SPICE simulations of the proposed circuit using 0.35μm CMOS process parameters have been given to verify the theoretical analysis.
