Abstract :
As new market requirements have becoming more persistence, the development of new artificial intelligence technologies proven more reliable and affordable in global competitive environment. The world has witnessed the role of artificial intelligence techniques in agriculture, geology medical, power system, space technology, business, marketing etc. core sectors. Forming industries is one of them as it has the highest amount of shares in production of components for aerospace, automotive and house hold utensils. Formability is the ability of the metallic material to be formed in desired shape without failure. However the work has been emphasized for formability prediction using intelligent system under VB.NET and AUTOLISP programming environment. Generally artificial intelligence technique comprises of facts, knowledge & rule based systems. In this study, set of rules/facts have been fed into the system in such fashion that it will suggest user that the component is formable or not for given configuration. The developed module will predict drawing ratio and die corner radius checks. The results obtained from the module have been confirmed with the confirmation test (experiments) and results have been found in good agreement.
