Abstract :
In this paper a dual polarized compact microstrip antenna for S-band and C-band application is presented, using multilayer Electromagnetic band gap with conducting layer, U-Slot and rectangular slot, this geometry consists of FR4 - air-FR-4 Materials, multiple frequencies of resonance concept used here for generating dual band, the 50% compactness generate by using surface current enhancement technique, this concept increases surface current at S-Band and C-Band, In this paper a EBG structure and conducting layer is used for enhancement in impedance bandwidth and return loss. Different parameters like impedance bandwidth Axial ratio and antenna parameters, elevation and azimuth pattern, efficiency, Return losses, gain and current distributions are analyzed and validated in IE3D Simulator. The proposed antenna suitable S-Band and C-Band application, for GSM, Bluetooth, Satellite communication and WiMAX applications.
