  • Abstract
    A precise technique used for design of this biperiodic bands pass filter by applying proper defect for creating waveguide and photonic crystal ring resonator. Specialty of this band pass filter is that this is perfectly applicable for U band (1625nm-1675nm) and L band (1565nm-1625nm) for cwdm system whose quality factors are 112 and 164 respectively, can be obtained by using 2D finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The photonic band gap can be calculated by using plane wave expansion (PWE) method. Theoretically analysis and simulation results can be examined by proper selection of parameters. In this paper, FDTD simulation results show close to 100% output efficiency for entire range of L (1565nm-1625nm) band and U (1625nm-1670nm) band. Different types of application are presented for biperiodic band pass filter.
