Abstract :
The research that follows is an attempt to present theoretical considerations about subjects in order to understand and present the concept of local development, a concept that renders clear the identity of a Masters Degree Program in Local Development in Campo Grande, MS - Brazil, at the Dom Bosco Catholic University. Globalization is a term which invaded the economical word and the international press. As such it is linked to a neoliberal discourse that priorizes deregulation of markets in general as a strategy. These terms and their meanings are not neutral, pointing to a situation of exclusion of huge part of humanity from the conditions of being alive, however totally apart and away from any consideration of Christian ethics. Local Development in the context of territoriality face to globalization could have been conducted by the classical way, through a theoretical revision of concepts, closing the thoughts with a demonstration of how Globalization is manifesting itself as present in the world, redesigned geopolitically in territories, through the existence of the arrangements in new economic blocks and the perspectives of Local Development in such contexts.
