Abstract :
Using chaotic signals in spread-spectrum communications has a few clear advantages over traditional approaches. Chaotic signals are non-periodic, wideband, and more difficult to predict, to reconstruct, and to characterize than periodic carriers. These properties of chaotic signals make it more difficult to intercept and decode the information modulated upon them. In this paper, we introduce modifications on DCSK to enhance the privacy by eliminating the similarity in the output samples by a chaotic mask, and faster by reducing the delay time. We analyze then the performance of the proposed modulation for different parameters and by comparison with other variants of DCSK.
