Abstract :
A novel computationally efficient time-domain equalizer for ADSL and VDSL transceivers is introduced. First, the algorithm of its coefficients´ calculation is presented. It is particularly simple and easy for implementation at the cost of its minor suboptimality. Performance of the proposed equalizer in comparison with a few selected equalizers designed according to other criteria has been investigated by simulation for both ADSL and VDSL systems. It turns out that the proposed equalizer features almost the best performance in form of system throughput at much lower computational requirements than other equalizers.
