Abstract
By extending the use of the Floquet decomposition theory, a method based on linear matrix inequalities (LMI) is devised to generate a class of linear time-varying systems with the property that the system stability is not characterized by point wise-in-time eigenvalues, as in the linear time-invariant case. Unlike the well-known Markus-Yamabe example, more general non-periodic systems with time-varying pointwise-in-time eigenvalues can be constructed by this method.
