Abstract :
An extension of the Generalised Predictive Control algorithm to a multivariable system (MGPC) is developed, from the basic theory leading to the polynomial controller, to the aspects of an autotuning strategy to help users in designing a stable and robust control law. This version is then applied to the Cognac Martell distillation, as a two inputs-two outputs multivariable system. The modelling and identification of this process is briefly examined, and some simulation results with the MGPC law are presented coupled to a study of the influence of the tuning parameters. These results are also compared to previous monovariable experiments.
