Abstract :
This paper presents a dynamic model for a fuel oil power plant. The model is non-linear, with concentrated parameters, and aims the simulation study of control problems in normal operating conditions and in the presence of fast load changes and large disturbances, as those that occur in emergency situations. The development of the model uses mainly mass, energy and momentum equilibrium equations. Empirical models are used to describe energy transfer, flow and other phenomena. The model parameters are obtained from geometric data, known thermodynamic relationships and identification using an extensive set of experimental data. Model validation is based on transient simulation and comparison with experimental data. Stationary modes of operation are also validated.
