Abstract :
This paper describes the application of two fuzzy-logic based methods of residual analysis to the winding machine. The residuals are generated using a parity space approach, based on a discrete-time linear model of the system. The designs of the two residual analysis methods, one based on fuzzy clustering, and the other on fuzzy reasoning, are described. Simulation results are presented for five sensor faults and the methods compared as to their suitability for this application.
