Abstract :
This paper presents a way to compute approximations to the auxiliary functions associated with the Q-parameterization approach to control system design for distributed parameter systems. The technique is put in a form that can be used to recursively compute the (m+1)st approximation in terms of the mth approximation. In addition, the recursive formulation highlights the contribution of the new information thereby allowing the designer to decide if the new information is worth the additional computational effort.
