Abstract :
After the 9/11 attacks, the security factor has become a matter of more concern for any wide area operation such as SCADA system in Oil and Gas or any other industry. The Automation and Telecommunication Committee and Gas Control Committee of AGA agreed to support AGA report to establish security measures to guard SCADA communication from cyber-attack. This paper provides significance in term of security provided by AGA12 framework for its deployment and comparison with other available security standards. This comparative analysis is based on comparison of various available security standards for SCADA with AGA 12 to provide cryptographic protection to SACDA wireless communication. Moreover, the cost factor is also considered to work out the optimal solution by incorporating desired level of security.
