Abstract
For the drive-train of an electric and hybrid vehicle, the concept of a drive-train with a two-drive-transmission shows a high efficiency and a longer range at a given battery capacity than with a single fixed gear transmission. For this concept, a permanent magnet synchronous machine with buried magnets is electromagnetically, thermally and mechanically designed and analyzed. With a calculated efficiency map, the drive simulation results are compared with different drive-train concepts.
