Abstract
This paper proposes a simple asymmetric half-bridge converter structure, which operates without any DC offset of the transformer magnetizing current. The proposed topology has a modified rectification stage comprising of only one diode and hence offers the advantages of reduced device count and improved efficiency. Detailed theoretical analysis of circuit operation is presented followed by simulation and experimental results on a 240 W Laboratory prototype.
