Abstract :
Multiport converters provide cost-effective solutions to capture energy from several sources and to dispatch power in smart DC distribution systems. This paper presents a family of isolated multiport converters for efficient interfacing between diverse energy sources and loads. A set of synthesis rules to construct multiport converters from existing single-input single-output converters are proposed. First, the pulsating source cells (PSCs) are reviewed, and the filter cells (FCs) are introduced. Then, the original source of a conventional isolated converter is replaced with series- or parallel-connected PSCs, and the DC load is replaced with series- or parallel-connected FCs. As a result, a family of possible topologies is generated.
