Abstract :
A method is described for manufacturing an increased-gain monopole antenna in a printed-circuit version. A segmented half-wavelength monopole incorporates lumped inductances in the form of circular loops, while the capacitances are created by overlapping the segments on the opposite sides of the substrate. The half-wavelength monopole is matched to 50 Ω impedance so that it does not require any external matching network.
