Abstract :
A fast semianalytical finite element method is used to simulate electromagnetic telemetry problems in layered media. This novel numerical method uses conventional finite elements and a Riccati equation based high precision integration scheme to handle the cross section and the vertical direction of a layered structure, respectively. Numerical examples demonstrate its efficiency.
