Abstract
Recently, a modification of the common Dynamic Matrix Control (DMC), called Filtered DMC (FDMC), was proposed. This modification adds a prediction error filter which makes it possible to alter the robustness and disturbance rejection characteristics of the original algorithm. In this paper, the FDMC is applied to a solar collector field. The results are then compared to similar works that use nonlinear techniques. It is shown that the FDMC, if properly tuned, can yield similar results to more advanced control algorithms.
