Abstract
The Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) mechanism supports some degree of service differentiation between different types of classes of service, referred to as access categories. However virtual collision management is a penalizing process, it can induce quality of service degradation. We propose in this paper a mathematical modelling based on a two-dimension Markov chain and overviews the quality of service in presence of three Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) applications. We tackle the performance evaluation of the EDCA mechanism thus the three ITS services in a vehicular environment.
