Abstract
Hospital acquired infections (HAIs) are a dangerous reality in modern medicine. Existing drugs become less effective as target microbes adapt to the drugs used to fight them. Dealing with this problem requires a multi-pronged approach of new drug development and improvements in procedures. One approach described in this paper is a warning device that audibly reminds hospital staff to take the appropriate precautions before and after seeing a patient.
